Our favorite cabin! We have stayed here for spring break three times in the last 7 years. This is by far our kids (all girls and now teenagers and preteen) favorite cabin. It is cozy, inviting, has all the features and extras you would like to have in your home away from home. We highly recommend this cabin to anyone. It is beautifully situated with gorgeous views and woods all around. A great hill for sledding (sleds in the garage), a teepee with a fire pit and hot tub for relaxing after a day of skiing. A short drive to town. It’s a perfect location! Love the wood stove, sauna room and pool table. This house really is a gem. No one else compares!! Owners are great too!

Outstanding Property and Great Owners.  This property is one of the best we've stayed in. We had 4 adults and 4 children under 6 years of age. House was well kept, tons of amenities, great location, and had tons of space. We loved the hot tub, teepee, and fire pit, along with being only 10 minutes from Breckenridge. Chris was flexible and really easy to work with. Book without hesitation, thanks for a great stay Chris!

Fall colors high in the Rockies.  Beautiful log cabin feel with all the amenities, hot tub, sauna, and steam shower. Great remote hikes 15 miles south. Suggest checking in at the Forest Service Office in Fairplay for maps and trail conditions. Excellent remote hikes through miles of aspen forests in full fall color; no other humans on the trail, but did see elk and mule deer close up, and antelope at a distance. Bike ride from Breck to Frisco and afternoon shopping and dining in Frisco made for a pleasant day. We did the Briar Rose for a nice dinner out and Alpine Sports North for bike rental and easy access to the trail to Frisco; we recommend both.

Just as we hoped it to be.....,  The luxury log house was spacious fun and very well appointed. Three levels gave all 6 of us space. The main level is perfect for cooking and gathering-enjoyed the furniture. The attention to detail was very impressive and appreciated. The deck hot tub was fun under the stars. The kitchen was gourmet supplied with all needed to comfortably prepare dinner/ breakfast. The dining table set a beautiful table for forever memories. Six miles south of Breckenridge and we found it to be a perfect distance out of town away from it all. Fly fishing close by.

Adventure and Beyond!  Where to even begin...  Our families had an incredible time at the Blue River Lodge! It was exactly what it was described as and more! We had tons of fun playing at the house and hiking around outback as we did taking short drives to find short and long trails to hike with kids. We talked with several locals to find more amazing places to go such as Kite Lake, Paris Mill/Lincoln Falls, etc. We explored a lot on our own and were so excited to find so many places to explore close by! The owners are wonderful and very easy to talk with. The home was equipped with plenty in the kitchen, for the kids, chairs outside, etc. Very clean and plenty of room! We hope to come back! Meanwhile, we will suggest this home to everyone we know!  It was truly a wonderful home!

What a perfect cabin getaway.  You really couldn't pick a more perfect cabin for a large family group. It really has it all. This was our third time on a ski trip out to Breckenridge. I'll tell you right off the bat, you need four wheel drive to get up the driveway in winter...and even after a snow, it is still challenging with a Suburban. That is literally the ONLY hiccup. Other than that, the layout was excellent - lots of space for friends and family. The location was so great - quick drive into Breckenridge, other mountains nearby. Wifi worked great for folks on our trip who had to work a bit. The hot tub was excellent for relaxing after full days of skiing. The fireplace was great for winding down at night. All of the beds were comfortable. Lots of room in the garage to park cars. The availability of snowshoes to hike up behind the property for some amazing views and folks who didn't want to aggressively ski every day was an unexpected treasure. Even the teepee out back with a bonfire was a fun night for our group. The house is also close to Hoosier Pass - so pop out of the driveway, take a right, and head up a few miles for gorgeous views of the mountain range. Only an hour drive to the Mt. Princeton hot springs - totally doable. The neighbors were even super friendly. I would rent this cabin again in the winter and the summer and I look forward to doing so in the future. Don't think twice - just book this place, rent an SUV, and enjoy.

we LOVED this place!  This was the PERFECT cabin for our group. We had several adult couples come together from across the country and meet here for a week of skiing in summit county. Absolutely nothing negative to say about the place - looking forward to bringing my entire family back!!

ExceptionalI've been doing vacation rentals in Colorado for many years now and I have to say this place ranks in the top 3. The cabin was amazing, very rustic with lots of character. All the amenities were top-notch, the teepee and the indoor sauna were like icing on the cake. Great location and the owners were professional and easy to work with. Thanks Chris, we're already looking forward to staying here again next year.

Best week! Perfect for large families.  We had an extended family that included 4 generations ranging from a 1 year old to my 82 year old mother. This house was perfect. The three levels gave us plenty of room to get away from each other yet was big enough on each level for us to get together and have a great time. We rented the house so we could ski and explore the Breckenridge area and it worked perfectly. You should know that when the owner says you need four-wheel drive to get to the house, he's not kidding. We had 4WD and so it was no problem. The steep driveway was perfect for sledding and we did this a lot. I think my favorite part of the house was the fact that there is no television on the level with the kitchen. It gave all of us a chance to spend time talking without outside distractions. The house is gorgeous, well taken care of and the sauna and steam-shower are awesome. We hope to go there again.

Perfect Cabin for a large group or a family.  I had never used VRBO before. I found this cabin and was not disappointed at all. Everything the owner lists is absolutely true! The cabin is a piece of heaven! Clean and every detail has been thought of! We stayed here for Thanksgiving in 2015. We loved this cabin and would love to return. The owner is wonderful and so easy to work with. The layout is perfect for kids. Plenty of room for everyone!

Great Home, Good Times...  My wife and I brought our two young children (under 5) to stay at Blue River Lodge for a week in August. Another couple and their young daughter (under 5) joined us. The house setup was great -- although we needed to use baby gates to block the stairs for our youngest child. The main floor has a very open feel with a view of the great outdoors.... the bottom floor was perfect for the toddlers to roam and play and they both really enjoyed the bunk room.  We were able to use the spa which was fantastic. I would say the ultimate highlight for our kids was the teepee out back where we built fires and roasted smores --- and we also had easy access to hiking trails right out behind the house.  The drive in and out of Breck wasn't bad at all, and the house is close to the continental divide at Hoosier pass. I would recommend to anyone with kids and think the house is even better if the kids are older and can pile into the bunk room.  Will stay here again!

Blue River Paradise.  We spent a fabulous week at this beautiful home. The pictures don't truly reflect the true beauty and size of this home. The house is huge with enough space for family gatherings or spreading out for a little quiet time. Kitchen well stocked - we didn't lack for anything. Snow sleds, shoes, toboggans made for a great time during our stay. House was warm and cozy in the midst of a beautiful snowfall. Would go back again and again!!!

A Family Reunion Gem.  It's so very bittersweet to leave! We just conclude only our second ever family reunion at the lodge, and everyone was just blown away by the house, by Colorado (many first timers), and by the overall great experience. And the house was right at the middle of it. The setup and amenities made it so the house was the obvious meeting place for family dinners, with something for everyone including the toddlers, and we could not have been more pleased. So thank you for helping a large, spread out family in need of reconnection to find such a fabulous getaway in the mountains! We can't wait for the next one!

Wow, Wow, Wow, Wow!!!! We said it the moment we walked in, every morning as we woke up, and every evening as we sat by the fire - and we're still saying it today as we prepare to leave! Georgeous house, stunning location and very, very interesting and thoughtful owners. It's a hard place to leave indeed, but one we certainly hope to return to in the not too far distant future. Many thanks.

Your home was the foundation for our best family vacation ever. Thank you so much. We leave tomorrow with wonderful memories and hopes of returning every year.

We felt comfortable and at home the moment we stepped inside your beautiful cabin. I confess, I had some trepidation about renting a vacation home via the internet but we are delighted with the location and the way you furnished and appointed this lovely home. As we prepare for our return home, I like to imagine this cabin in the other seasons with the woods turning red and amber and the snow blanketing the mountains. We hope when the seasons turn again to summer we may find ourselves here again. This cabin in the woods has a warm and embracing spirit about it. Keep toasty this winter.

We arrived at your wonderful house and decided whatever there is here to do other than ski was not necessary with a house like this available to us. Everything else simply went by the wayside. This has been the most enjoyable and relaxing couple of days anyone could ask for and for that we thank you both.

Steve and Tina Sextan, England.

It is Good Friday morning. About 8 inches of new snow is on the ground and still falling. We are enjoying coffee by the crackling wood stove and looking at a winter wonderland outside. Thanks ever so much for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. This week has been a special experience staying here and one we will never forget.

Gwen and Sam Larson, Sewickley, Pennsylvania.

Our wonderful experience enjoying the ambience of your winter wonderland certainly tops any of the other visits we've had to Colorado.

What a beautiful home away from home you have built. Loved the location, cozy furnishings and all the extras you have thought of. We had a wonderful week relaxing, skiing and snowboarding, oh and of course shopping and eating out! Hope to return sometime soon!
